MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Fort Hill Sentinels extended their winning streak to 15 games with a 49-23 win over Morgantown Friday at Pony Lewis Field at J.W. Ruby Stadium.

The Sentinels took a 7-0 lead when Snyder capped a 76-yard scoring drive from three yards out with 8:46 left in the first quarter, with Danny King’s kick making it 7-0. King finished 6 for 6 in the game and fell just short of making a 58-yard field goal in the third quarter.

The Mohigans answered, however, with an 80-yard run, but the kick for conversion was blocked by the Sentinels’ Santana Plummer to put the score at 7-6. The Sentinels struck right back, though, when Santmyire dashed 75 yards for the score, with King’s kick making it 14-6.

Morgantown (0-3) then scored on a 75-yard run, but Stubbs then got Fort Hill back in the end zone with a 78-yard touchdown run, going over the right side, to make it 21-13, Fort Hill, with 5:59 left in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Sentinels padded their lead a bit, as Snyder scored his second touchdown from six yards out, with King’s kick making it 28-13. Snyder would soon score again, taking the ball in from four yards out with 6:36 left in the half, with King making it 35-13, Sentinels.

Morgantown went deep into Fort Hill territory getting to the 10 with 33 seconds left in the half. On fourth down, from the 10, John McConnell’s 27-yard field goal brought the Mohigans to within 35-16 with 33 seconds left.

The Sentinels immediately took it to midfield on a big gain by Paxton Wertz over the right side, and Santmyire took it to the Morgantown 45 on a double-reverse. After an incompletion on second down, Snyder took it toward field goal range for King, but time ran out in the half.

The Mohigans cut their deficit to 35-23 with a touchdown in the second half, but with 5:04 remaining in the game, sophomore Stubbs scored from 15 yards out to make it a 42-23.

Then with 53 seconds remaining Wertz scored on a two-yard run, with junior Rob Bower adding the extra point to make it 49-23.

Fort Hill (2-0) will travel to Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on Friday.
