CUMBERLAND — Unbeaten Fort Hill scored early, often and got little resistance from Serra Catholic, rolling to a 56-6 victory in high school football Saturday afternoon at Greenway Avenue Stadium.

The win improved the Sentinels’ record to 6-0 and extended their area record winning streak to 31 games. Serra Catholic, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, fell to 4-3.

Fort Hill, in its first game in 15 days because of a forfeit by Westinghouse last Friday, led 14-0 after one quarter and four second-quarter touchdowns made it a commanding 42-0 advantage at halftime.

Poling ran five times for 60 yards with one reception for 75, all in the first half. Powell ran three times for 47 yards and Johnson completed 3 of 5 passes for 102 yards.

A 40-yard punt return by Anthony Smith set up the next touchdown, an 11-yard run by Poling, with 2:32 remaining in the period.

Johnson hooked up with Poling on a 75-yard pass play at the 11:37 mark, Powell capped a three-play drive with a 28-yard TD run at 10:07, and Johnson hit Smith with a 25-yard touchdown pass that made it 35-0 with 8:35 left in the half. The fourth touchdown of the quarter was a 14-yard run by Troy Banks with 4:31 on the clock.

Hoover grabbed a short second-half kickoff and returned it 62 yards for a touchdown that moved the lead to 49-0.

The Eagles averted the shutout when Patrick Brennan hit Jaquae Jackson with a 72-yard strike, making it 49-6 late in the third quarter.
