CUMBERLAND — The fifth Queen City Quad Preseason High School Football Classic will kick off Saturday, 3 p.m., at Greenway Avenue Stadium. The host Fort Hill Sentinels will welcome three opponents to this four-team event. The varsity will be on the main field and the junior varsity will compete on the upper practice field. In all, more than 450 student-athletes and coaches will participate.

T.C. Williams from Alexandria, Va. will be making its fourth straight appearance in the Quad. Most people will recognize the name of this school from the Hollywood movie “Remember The Titans,” which was based on a true story in which Denzel Washington played the starring role of football coach Herman Boone. For those who have not seen this film, the Titans always perform a ritual march as they leave the locker room to take the field. This year's Titans also possess two highly-regarded senior defensive players in linebacker Malik Carney (6-2, 208 pounds) and defensive end Jeremiah Clarke (6-4, 276) who have already committed to play football next year for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels.

One of the new teams traveling to Cumberland for the first time ever will be North Point from Waldorf. The Eagles are the 14th largest public school in the state and continue to be a Class 4A playoff contender, competing in one of the toughest regions. Senior running back Marquel Dickerson (5-9, 186) rushed for 17 touchdowns last fall and already has offers from Toledo and Buffalo. Dickerson is also hoping for an offer from Maryland sometime soon. Tight end Marquise Watts (6-4, 242) is another top prospect who has accepted an offer to play at Temple next fall.

Returning to the Quad for the second straight time will be Morgantown High School. The Mohigans are the No. 2-ranked preseason Class AAA team in the state of West Virginia according to the Charleston Daily Mail. Some of the top recruits on the team are senior offensive lineman Amanii Brown (6-5, 260) who has already committed to hometown WVU. Another future Mountaineer commitment is junior tight end/defensive end Stone Wolfley (6-5, 245). Other college prospects include senior offensive lineman Andre Collins (6-3, 275) who has an offer from VMI, junior defensive tackle C.J. King (6-5, 340), who already has drawn interest from Notre Dame, and senior running back Chazzy Thomas (5-9, 185) who rushed for 1,800 yards and 25 touchdowns last fall.

In this scrimmage, each school will perform against the other three while using first-down chains and referees in a true game setting.

Admission to the Queen City Quad is free but donations will be accepted at the gate with all proceeds going to the Queen City Football Foundation.
